It is our profound pleasure and privilege to send our warmest greetings to all of you. The academic year 2007-08 is almost drawing to a close and I am sure that you have been kept informed of the various activities of the school from time to time. Coorg Public School has now behind it a success story spanning over a period of 13 years. During these years, in academic excellence and value based education, COPS has carved out its own niche in the educational arena of the country. COPS is the premier institution in this part of the country and we have no doubt proved our purpose and quality in such a short span of time. The Management policies and Administrative principles that we are following are unique and the best in this part of the country.
The school has made enviable and significant strides not only in academics, but also in various extra-curricular and co-curricular activities including Art, Dance, Music, Dramatics, and also in Sports and Games. We believe in providing border-less education and as such we have tie-ups with the British Council in India and this has paved the way for our students and staff to visit UK. One batch each of our students visited London, South Korea and Japan to attend the International Scouts & Guides Jamboree. Another batch of students visited U.S. Space and Rocket Centre, Hunsteville, Alabama, The NASA Visitors’ Centre in United States. Two batches visited UK and US on International Student Exchange Programme. We have a spectrum of our alumni in different parts of the world. The fact that our alumni are doing excellently well in their chosen fields is more than sufficient testimony to the quality of education imparted. There are no heights that COPS Alumni have not conquered. They are in the best of professional colleges – Medical, Dental, Engineering, Marine Engineering, Law, NDA and Naval Engineering etc. Many have gone abroad for higher studies.
The Management of Coorg Public School has always taken keen interest to make sure that commercial interests do not override us. And this is the most important factor that makes COPS unique among all other schools. We do not take capitation fee from parents nor do we dilute our norms of admissions. We pay all sections of our staff very well and take care of them in the best possible way. Also we do select the best available talents for the teaching job and make sure that they grow in their profession. To retain the best teaching talents, they have to be looked after well in terms of salary and perks. We do invest in the in-service training and professional orientation of the staff so that they give their best to the students and contribute to the welfare of the children on campus.
